Carrying a bicycle on a scooter [ Archive] - GasSavers.org - Helping You Save at the Pump

That's right as if 90+mpg isn't enough. Getting to local group bicycle rides can be less costly in fuel. Below is my first attempt fro a few weeks back, too much load off to one side of the scooter for the metal rack/bracket to handle:

Below is my second attempt, now just need to figure out a way to secure the rear wheel and add some rigidity to the length of the wood plank:

The pelican case ctually has more than enough room to put helmet, cycling shoes, water bottles, snacks and change of clothes..:thumbup:

I'd be tempted to just rig a clamp for the front wheel on the back and trail it on the back wheel, or do you go too fast for that?

Narrow 700c bicycle wheel bouncing down the pavement at 60 mph, how long do you think that would last?

Ah, not long. Might've worked if you only needed to get across the city at 30-40mph, but 60 nope.

Skinny road bike tires that gets flats more often at $40-50 a tire, that's more expensive than my scooter tire that last 6-8000 miles with a whole lot more rubber.
I think I will save the cost of buying more road bike tires by suspensding the whole bicycle.
