Just made a engine belly pan for my Civic. Had a panel off a old A/C unit. Rolled the edges over with a hammer. Rolled the front edge over a landscape timber and painted silver. Have it setup for attachment with 6ea. self tapping screws.

Its a bit heavy so it has lite weight skid pan dutys as well... LMAO

Ive been wanting to do this since I purchased the car. It seems everything on the road ends up in the engine compartment. First car Ive ever owned that got road salts on the hood mat.

The paint is drying right now. I will install it here in a little while. I dont see this paint taking long to dry in direct sun. :)

I got the pan installed. Took 8 screws. No rattles or squeaks. Took the car for a 20 miles test run. Came back to the house with the SG showing 48.5 mpg. It would seem it helped with enine noise. Now theres more road noise. I doubt it will help with mpg. My hope is that it will help keep the engine bay cleaner. If it does turn out to help mpg then it may be worth it to spring for the HCHII belly pan kits. My Civic comes with some pans in the rear. The HCHII adds small side pans and the engine pan.

Here's two pics.

Have you seen dan's thread where he did a full tray with coroplast and it not only increased FE but reduced road noise?

PS: Ramps, how old school, my car wouldn't fit up ramps even.

I guess we double wishbone pimps are too cool for ramps.
