Of course, my mantra is that the best mod to make is the driver, but I'm helping my wife get better mileage without her knowledge. She already drives like a hypermiler in regard to accelaration and driving style. But she scoffs at my attempts to hypermile (like removing the towing package and luggage rack), so I decided to go stealth.

I am solely responsible for the upkeep of the vehicles, so it's really my own discretion. So far, I've over-inflated the tires and taken out a bunch of extra weight. She keeps meticulous records, so I'm going to see if it's helping at all. I'm not using additives in her car like I am in my Tribute. She's got a 2005 TSX and it's in pristine condition.

Any other stealth hypermilers out there?

I keep the tire psi up in my wifes Accord. But other than that nothing.

I hypermile my Wife's '06 TSX ;)

The instant FE meter definitely helps...

The throttle-by-wire is tricky, though -- very sensitive. I'm excited to see the results -- is it the Automatic?

Don't let her know, and keep a record of the results (and changes in weather / changes in usage pattern). Make sure the tyres are not too overinflated though.

Naaaa just a small squirt of GP7 in the filler when the tank gets low so when she fills it will mix in with the gas. That is one thing that definately helps as well as provides a little friction reduction in the upper cylinder area of the motor and better fuel combustion.

She just got her license a few years ago. No, I didn't rob the cradle. She grew up using public tansportation.

Anyway, I don't think her car has the instant FE meter. It's a 2005.

Secretly put 1/2-1 gallon of gas in from time to time.

LOL! That would be funny!

I wish someone would do that to me. Free gas FTW!

We moved a guy's car from Detroit to Windsor.

He didn't think it was funny, so we took him to China town for lunch. He never left his keys on his desk again, though.

The irony was that I was in the Auto Theft Unit! :D Go figure!
