I think GM is pretty good about showing cars that they never plan on mass producing. We'll see.
Yeah Honda is good at that too:

GM has pulled hundreds of eng. from the development grp. Into the PT home group who I work for; This is a very good sign of what MAY be on the horizion. Thought is to get them developing for production not dreaming. I can only say there are to me some exciting things on the horizion. I really want a Volt, just hope they stay true to the cool body design. Plus provide plug ins in my parking lot. Little past were it will run on elec. only.

I think the look of the Volt is fine, in a retro-conventional-mass-appeal kind of way. But its aerodynamics bite (I realize what we've seen is only a show car).
But I would really like to see GM - or any automaker - embrace superior aerodynamics as a corporate goal/philosophy. I guess Citroen did this at one point.
I thought the insight was beautiful.

minic6 but will GM ever produce something? They crushed and shredded their last EV car.

Don't you believe it. Maybe not for the street but they are around. I can't talk to much about the future product. Because I can't. Do some searches as to what is being said by GM. GM can't afford to blow the amount of money they are investing in Batteries, Pony Motors, Hydrogen, Plus all the hybrid and bass systems. We will see more from all of the industry. When stocks jump as they have in the last week due to GM coming forth with some future things. It's to be hoped they'll due the right thing.
I agree with you Metro MPG. But they sell to mainstream joe puplic. It has been shown over and over again that practical doesn't seem to sell. No one beat down Honda's door to buy the Insight! Hybrid sales fall off each time gas stabilizes for awhile. Its driving analyst and future product people nuts.So they are doing what is SAFE. Not what we'd like but remember the masses is who they are after, for good or bad.

P.S. I think that Honda is really cool, in a funky weird kinda way. Very aerodynamic.
