Grill block for 7th gen Civic

Today I blocked off the bottom grill with cardboard and zip ties...but have no idea how to go about doing the top, or even if I should. I'm too lazy to remove parts of the car off, and don't want anything too noticable, as my parents will probably be like...what the heck about it. (The bttom I spraypainted black, and it actually matches pretty well).

I was considering putting it on the back, but I'm not even sure how to go about doing that...and since it is winter, how much is technically safe to block? all?

Being winter it is safer to block the grill, so go for it, but watch the temp gauge.

I'm just really not sure how to go about doing it without taking stuff apart - going from the back, I'm not sure theres enough room for my hands to put the stuff in...from the front I'd be better off just stuffing it with something.

If you're worried that blocking a grill will reduce the available heat--don't. These grills just let cool air in to remove the excess engine heat through the radiator. The air for your cabin heat is drawn in at the base of the windshield (beneath where the wipers park) and passes through a very compact radiator (also known as the heater core) before emerging from the ductwork to warm you.
If anything, your engine will warm up quicker with the blocks in place.

No, actually, I was more interested in which would would cause more heat, and wanting the warmer engine sooner, not the other way around, not until Summer, at the very least. Its just that with my grill, for the top part, the top half of it is with the hood, and the bottom half I'm not sure how to go about blocking off, as I'm not sure how to remove the grill and whatnot.

Alrite, just made the part for the bottom half of the top grill...doubt cardboard is going to hold out in teh winter though, so I need to figure out a better alternative...but for the time being we'll see how this works out.
