im getting 35 mpg avarage on 100% city driving, nothing over 30 mph

at 3.50 a gallon, im getting 10 miles per dollar

so how do you convert it to cents per mile? whats the formula?

1) how much did you spend..... 2) how far did you drive.... 3)divide one by the other.

Is this a trick question?

Divide money spent/gallon by mpg

$3.50per gallon/35mpg=$ .10/mile

But that is cents per mile just for the gas, not for everything else, I spend around 8 cents per mile on gas, but my total cost per mile is more like 22 cents, but it's still done the same, total spent divided by total miles, if you don't know what that is, then start keeping track.

no its not a trick question, i just heard it on the news and just asked the question on here, without thinking deeper into the math
