Recently I had pneumonia for a month, and my mind was so "spacey" I couldn't hypermile. Yes, I just drove! No looking at traffic, no timing lights, shifting whenever I wanted, no coasting. It was actually a kind of weird experience.

How was your fuel efficiency during this time of driving?

Looks like it was pretty much just as good as ever...

I'm pretty sure it dropped about 1-2mpg during this time. But I only fill up once a month, so perhaps the drop got diluted out. Now I'm thinking I was still hypergliding to some extent subconsciously.
(As an aside: every time I see my measly "21% above" I wish this site calculated mpg based on the riding environment. I drive almost all urban, i.e. rush hour on city streets, in-the-city not long suburban roads, lots of stop lights, lots of stop-and-go. Compared to the epa for that I'm about 35% above epa.)

When I just go for a drive it's USUALLY like my drive last night. Just a drive to clear my head, I'm not paying much attention to things around me and I'm reflecting so I drive very easy and calm, I think I get some of my best mileage driving like that. No EOC or anything, just put her in drive and go.
I can't imagine how I'm going to do that when I get a manual transmission.
