I was going from my home in Mt. Pleasant, NC to Oak Ridge, TN over the weekend and decided to drive my '88 Escort. This was the first highway trip of over 100 miles it had made in several years so I wanted to see what kind of mileage I could get out of it now. The round trip was 610.4 miles and I made the trip on 12.423 gallons of gas, an average of 49.13 mpg. That included myself two passengers and a tool box in the trunk that weighs about 100 pounds. This was driving at 55 mph most of the time occasionally reaching 60-70 mph. I was really impressed that it would still get that kind of mileage with 482,000+ miles on it.

You do have some absurd expletives.

That is a LOT of miles to get that kind of MPG. Good job keeping that escort going so long.
