worth considering: if you read the numerous replies in the comments at GCC, you'll see quite a few prius owners contesting the FE stats as presented in the article.

It has the highest MPG until about 70mph, which I rarely exceed anyway.

I'm guessing the Opel is just super light.

my guess is that is probably because it is the smallest displacement deisel in the comparison.

the mercedes is quite the maverick....

Yes, there is something wrong with the Prius numbers. Maybe for the Prius 1, I dunno. But for the Prius 2, in warm weather, no winds and no AC, 55MPH = 65 MPG and 65 MPH = 55 MPG. 70 MPH = 50 MPG.

I'm rather disapointed that we can't get the 1.4tsi Golf in the US, you can get the 2.0tsi Golf GTI here, but they only get 31mpg, and who really needs 200hp in a hatch back?
