Top 10 predictions

Anyone want to throw out predictions for the peak top 10 lists during 2007?

The #1 spot will over 82 MPG
The #10 spot will be over 55 MPG.

Over EPA

The #1 spot will be over 95%
The #10 spot will be over 55%

Some one will turn in a normal driving(so to speak) tank of over 100 MPG

actualy #1 over epa is over 95% right now.

as for predictions: I think we'll see the same people/cars there just higher numbers. esepcialy when weather warms up and mileage numbers will increase.

z: That's nutty! 100 mpg tank? I'd love to be proven wrong. (I'm assuming you're talking non-hybrid here.)

I just want to try to beat 2 personal bests from 06: the 133 mpg round trip, and perhaps one fill up over 80.x, just for kicks.

Here's one solid prediction on the top 10 list: basjoos reclaims his rightful #1 spot in 10 days when my October tank falls off the 90-day calculation. I don't have any major highway trips coming up - not sure when the next fill will be, but it won't be pretty.

Great Improvements

I think that those figures are highly likely. With the increased membership and knowledge/mods made those in the top 25, this year in particular (once the warmer temps arrive) should produce some very serious improvements.

I'd like to hit the 40s more consistently with mixed driving. It's easy to get on the highway, but in-town kills it.

I'll include the hybrid. Even in a hybrid 100 mpg is not easy if you're using it as a daily driver. Don't forget basjoos had several 90 mpg tanks and that was before the extreme modification.

I'm sure once the weather warms the competitive edge of yours will come through. I think you'll see over 80 serveral times.

For me, personally, I have two predictions:

1) I will achieve over 60 mpg for several tanks during the summer

2) I will break into the top ten list. I just want to see my name up higher than #12 just once.

a stock crx hf driven with little concern could claim the #10 spot. I guess the problem is finding a stock hf?

Woot! I just hit #10 on the list as of 7:29PM CST! Months ahead of schedule. Somebody must have had a bad tank of gas because I was sitting at #11.

(TomO crosses on thing of his list of things to get done this summer)

Ok, I'm done geeking out over it.

Congrats! You can thank Mike T and the Rana smartii. You'll need to work hard to keep it. You got another honda just .04 MPG away from overtaking ya. Keep up the good effort.

Once summer comes around I shouldn't have any trouble hitting around 60MPG since I drive all highway during the summer, not to mention the warmer temps/air. But even if I do slip from the list anytime soon, I still have the memory of being in the list of "Elite Ten", lol.

I was at 7, which is my all time best, but larry edged me out. Once my 45 mpg tank falls off I'll be up there...

I predict...that I won't make top 10 next year at all. I'd be really happy to get a 90 day average of 45+ mpg before I do any more mods.

I think the highest i ever got was #12 in % over EPA.
I predict i won't make the top 10 this year.

Quote:
The #1 spot will over 82 MPG
The #10 spot will be over 55 MPG.
why 82mpg? why not 80mpg.

Bringing this back up. right now only one that hasn't been met is #10 spot which is at 50.4 right now. i thought i might have had a chance when top 10 % was mid 40's but thats just makes me have to work for it more now.

Well to be fair the % epa was based on the old numbers. I don't know where we are on that since everyone is using the new values. I'm sure everything will fall into place in 6-8 weeks. There are some really strong numbers in the gaslogs and it's not even spring yet

Who's your pick for the first 100 mpg tank?

Basjoos, one of the Smarts, One of the Insights, or MetroMPG and his new cam.

I'd say Basjoos and Metro will both do it but Basjoos will be first since he drives alot more than Metro.

Who's close to the 100 mpg tank? Basjoos, Metro, Co zx, or Silent Opec Nightmare.

Not gonna be me. I think I could do it - but, (1) it would take forever to deplete 3 gallons worth, and (2) it wouldn't be what I'd call "normal" driving, because I'd have to exclude highway trips for it to be practical.

By the way things are shaping up, CO appears to have the closest shot at it.
