1981 Buick Regal... My first car that I actually owned. Still have it, and still drive it on occasion. Rides like an overstuffed couch, and has ice cold R-12 air conditioning!
PS, PB, CC, Tilt, a/c, highest trim level available, and included deep pile plush shag carpeting from the factory...

Upgraded transmission from Turbo 350 3 speed automatic to Metric 400 4 speed automatic overdrive.
8/4/2008: As of today I'm running Mobil 1 5W30 Extended Performance oil in it. I wasn't brave enough to try a 0 weight oil for fear that it might start leaking.
8/24/2008. Took dashboard apart and fixed lighter plug. While apart I added a line input to the factory stereo so I can hook up my mp3 player in the car. My mp3 player and GPS are required equipment now that the car is back into semi-regular use.
9/16/08: Fixed wiring for high speed fan relay. High speed was cutting out. Once I fixed the bad connection the high speed works much better than it has in the past 10 years at least. Maybe it will cool the car better, and then I can turn the a/c down or off sooner? |
| Planned Modifications |
Possibly convert it to fuel injection now that I am exempt from emissions. That computer controlled 2bbl DualJet carb is a pain to keep working properly. I'm thinking I may change the plugs and wires. I can't remember when they were last done.
I don't think the torque converter is locking up anymore - possibly because I think the computer is on the fritz. Maybe a switch on the bottom of the dash to manually control TC lockup?
Also considering a good wash & wax. Car hasn't been washed in about 5 years, and hasn't been waxed in about 12.
