Description
This Civic VX seems to have all the options, mud flaps, passenger side view mirror, hinged aftermarket sunroof, rubber side trim/door bumper, A/C (I've removed most of it other then the under dash condenser), clock, so it weighs a bit more then a bare bones stock Civic VX might, and has a slight bit more airo draig then the origonal design, but I like things like the sunroof, and side veiw mirror.
my odometor currently reads 230,000 miles, I bought the car with 204,000 miles, I wasn't worried about the mileage because the car had good engine compression, and good jack points, altho a little body rust, and a damage front bumper cover (recently replaced) the body is straight, and strong, I recently replaced the tranny with a used one that has 130,000 miles, and replaced the clutch with a new one, the old clutch was still working prefectly, but bececause the trannies main bearing was going out, the clutch wore faster and was nearly gone, other then that the car is pretty close to stock, I even have stock 165/70 13" tires with 45psi.
most of the time I can only get gas that "may contane 10% ethonal" and I suspect that is part of the reason I get lower then EPA numbers.
Modifications
amsoil synthetic 0w 30 engine oil, and 5w 30 syncromesh MTF, and about 80% of my grill blocked with black 1/4" plastic.
At the same time I replaced tranny I also replaced the front shocks/struts with Edelbrock Performer IAS series, alowing me to drop the front 1.5 inches (adjustable hight) to match the rear hight of the car (New "stock style" springs were softer/shorter), the car came with a 180 degree thermostat, and it appeared to be a OEM part, I replaced it with a 195 degree aftermarket thermostat.
Planned Modifications
I would like a new hood (hail dents, and bondo from being backed in to twice) maybe Kevlar? but don't have plans to get one unless I can find one for $150 or so, would like to fill in gaps in the stock belly pan, but other then that I'm pretty pleased with how my car is.
