The 2.0 liter, ABA code, OBD I gasoline engine, and the cable clutch / mechanical link 5 speed 020 transmission have been removed and replaced with a 1.9 liter, AHU code, OBD II, direct injected, intercooled turbo diesel, and a hydraulic clutch actuated, cable shifted 02A 5 speed gearbox taken from a 1997 Jetta TDI.
15 inch alloys w/ 205/50-15 tires replaced the 185/60-14 (not a fuel saving mod, but WOW! does it hold the road better!), gasoline fuel pump re-activated as a lift pump, engine cover sourced and installed, injector pump timing set to within specification, Mass Air Flow sender replaced, Turbo boost (wastegate control) valve replaced. |
