| Description |
I bought this car for $3500 in 2004 with a lot of problems. Gas mileage was bad, the idle was a little bad and other stuff. I paid the dealer $485 and the car idled a little bit better, plus they took care of other small stuff.
The body is in a little bit bad shape. Both bumpers need to be replaced, the driver's door needs to be straightened out. The car got 20mpg in the city and 27mpg on the freeway. Overall 24mpg mixed. This made me very frustrated. I tried many ways to raise the mpg and even drove like a grandma and only got 26mpg. Then I started reading all kinds of gas saving websites and started thinking differently.
My first goal was to reach 27mpg because I could never get it. This is not freeway only number but mix driving. So far my best is 31.4mpg and my next goal is 35mpg mixed driving which means city and freeway. My ultimate goal with this car is 35mpg mixed driving.
June 2006
Sold the car to a nice lady. I fixed everything on it and did a huge maintenance before I sold it. The last tank was 31mpg. I started out with 24mpg and when I sold the car it was at 31mpg. Not bad at all.
EPA: 22 city/30 freeway
Me: 23-24 city/35+mpg freeway
