10/31/2012 385.7 8.851 3.719Installed 85% lower grille block before starting this tank. Warm-ups seem faster, and coasting seems easier... but it could be a placebo effect.43.57

08/21/2012 382 8.419 3.699Tire pressure was down about 5psi all around. I have a sneaking suspicion it happened when I had my oil changed recently (they try to be helpful), and I didn't really notice until I got it on the highway.45.37
08/07/2012 395.7 8.282 3.619Another record tank--despite more stop-and-go highway travel. No doubt about using neutral on the highway...47.77
08/03/2012 397.9 8.583 3.489More evidence that my FE gains last tank were no fluke. Once again, I've been getting stuck in stop-and-go construction traffic, yet I've averaged better than 46 MPG for the tank!46.35
07/26/2012 450.2 9.595 3.539I decided to try using NEUTRAL on certain downhill highway stretches. This tank set a new MPG record for this car. My travel included city driving and getting stuck in stop-and-go construction traffic on the highway, so I expect to see better numbers in the future.46.92

03/15/2012 370.2 9.037 3.739 I've installed another upper grille block. My cooling issue was elsewhere.40.96

01/02/2012 355.6 10.088 3.239Cold weather stinks. Gotta check tire pressures more frequently.35.24

11/02/2011 307.2 8.034 3.419Holy crazy October weather, Batman!38.23
10/27/2011 379.2 9.407 3.439I've replaced now the third brake light, the brake/tail lights, and the plate lights with LEDs. The only non-LED external lights are the headlights and the reverse lights. I've disconnected the DRLs as they stopped functioning as soon as I replaced the tail lights. Cold and rain continue to drain fuel efficiency. Unfortunately, I don't expect it will improve again until spring. Top speed down to 57mph again...40.31
10/19/2011 395.5 10.484 3.479Here's confirmation that speed kills mpg. I made two trips with a max speed of 65mph (instead of 57mph), and my fuel efficiency dropped to a near-record low.37.72
10/06/2011 419.7 10.373 3.519Rain and cold weather have been taking their toll...40.46
09/29/2011 436.9 10.042 3.559 43.50
09/21/2011 294.6 7.004 3.599 42.06
09/14/2011 443.9 10.717 3.639At 61.5% of this tank's mileage, I installed LEDs to replace the front signal lights (which have been converted to DRLs). I replaced the flasher relay with one designed for LEDs. I expect mpg to rebound with the next fill-up since ScanGaugeII indicated that I filled up with more fuel than what was expected.41.42
09/01/2011 409.8 9.141 3.659I've got a carbon fiber hood now. It's lightened the steering noticeably. Hopefully, we'll see a consistent increase in fuel efficiency.44.83
08/30/2011 446.7 10.355 3.599 43.13
08/22/2011 418.6 9.229 3.599I finally hit 45 mpg!45.35
08/15/2011 404.9 9.299 3.639Back to my usual pump. ScanGauge confirmed that it fills less than the pump I used last time. Rain has had a negative impact on my mileage. I'm still hoping to hit 45 mpg before my new carbon fiber hood arrives.43.54
08/08/2011 391.9 9.181 3.699I couldn't use my customary pump to fill up. According to my ScanGauge, this pump filled more than the other would have filled.42.68
08/01/2011 474.6 10.589 3.739I've converted the front signal lights to daytime running lights, and I now use them instead of running with headlights on during the day.44.82
07/25/2011 429.4 9.644 3.739This tank had no power steering. Also, I removed the upper grille block after a few hundred miles because the temp gauge was skyrocketing with the hot weather (it didn't seem to be helpful, anyway).44.52
07/19/2011 413.2 9.84 3.739This tank had an upper grille block in place.41.99
06/27/2011 393.7 9.267 3.679Tires were inflated to 44psi. It doesn't ride as nicely as it did before, but it seems to have better fuel efficiency.42.48
06/20/2011 363.2 8.821 3.719I dropped max highway speed from 66mph to 57mph. I now set the cruise control to maintain a minimum of 55mph uphill. At 55-57mph, it's fast enough to not get totally run over in the slow lane. It's also a decent speed to allow cars to merge onto the highway with little bother.41.17
06/10/2011 343 10.16 3.719The car spent the day at the shop for service (including repairing/recharging the AC and replacing leaking fuel lines), so who knows how much fuel was lost?33.75
06/01/2011 384 10.333 3.799This is the first tank of fuel I used. All tires inflated to 40psi (44psi sidewall max, door placard specifies 30psi-front/29psi-rear). I drive with headlights on. I also travel with 85-90 pounds of gear in the trunk (I need it for work).37.16
