Nice color.

I wish I was capable of bodywork and painting.

Re: My New N/A Del Sol Project

Thanks for all the complement's!

I finished sanding and buffing tonight. Started out 1000 grit then 1500 grit by hand. Then finished sanding with the 3M Trizact system 1500grit DA then their Trizact 3000 grit foam.

Then I use the Presta ultra cutting cream and their ultra 1500 compound and finally their swirl remover and a foam pad. I should have some pics tomorrow. I ran out of time tonight.

Now I can re-install the front bumper, mirrors, door handles, head lights and tail lights etc. So this weekend it should be back on the road. So if the weather holds I will take it on a 1000+ mile road trip.

I also did some re-adjusting on the camber, and toe in on both front and rear. It should help a little as now the car can be push with one finger effortlessly.

Re: My New N/A Del Sol Project

I would install it. Keep as much air out from underside as you can.

Looks good!

Re: My New N/A Del Sol Project

Update:

Its really close to being finished. I kinda took it easy this weekend and didn't get as much done as I wanted.

I did have one setback yesterday and accidently put a convex dent in the passenger side door. I was installing the window side glass belt molding and got the two retaining screws in the wrong holes and almost put a screw all the way through the door. So I spent a half a day repairing my screw up.

So all that's left now is the inner door panels, glove box door, and install all my electronics for data logging and read out.

Re: My New N/A Del Sol Project

Update:

Well heres my first post but with a few up dates. (I can't do a edit on the first post)

Red text is mods that won't be done.
"1995 smooth front bumper without fog lights" I couldn't find a newer style bumper in time so I went with a 93'

"Custom Built rear window step" I decided this was not worth the time and effort since the new engine isn't producing the results I wanted being N/A.

Blue text is what still needs to be done.

My New N/A Del Sol Project

I started out with a D16Z6 turbo engine that is built to handle 600whp and still get great FE. This engine is now in my Son's Honda Civic. I'm still working on it but I decided to try to build an engine for the Del Sol that could easily be duplicated. So that brings me to my 3rd engine setup.

Car 1994 Del Sol
Curb Weight 2295lbs
Engine Stock D15 1.5L non-vtec
Transmission VX manual 5 speed

Body Mods:
Lowered 2 1/2 inches H&R Race springs
1995 smooth front bumper without fog lights
Adjustable lexan front grill block
VX Wheels with LRR tires
Custom Built rear window step

Engine Mods:
WAI
P28 ECU w/CROME PRO Engine Management
Innovate LMA-1/Aux. Box-3 Wideband O2

Goals:
70MPG @ 65MPH Freeway driving
50MPG City driving
Easy to duplicate for around 7000k

My personal best with this N/A 1.5L engine setup has been 68MPG freeway @ 65MPH avg. This was done running a airfuel ratio of 17.5:1

I don't think I can get over 70mpg with this setup in N/A form. Its max out after reviewing the data
So this is what I will work with even though I'm very disappointed in this N/A engine(after yesterdays testing 65mpg @ 60mph). The turbocharge engine was helping a lot more then even I thought.
