People Powered Edger

in recent months, i've purchased a reel mower and an electric weed wacker. i still have a gas edger so i'd like thoughts on this...

could it work in completing my path to the dark side, uh that is, to oil/gasless yard maintenance?

yup, looks strange, so i asked an "old" co-worker if he'd used one back in his day.

he said it works quite well, but unlike a gas powered one, the blade needs to be sharpened from time to time.
