Halo Plugs

Little late on this but went ahead and purchased some Halo Spark plugs and tested them the other day. The weather was 96 light south winds 4 runs over a 1.5 mile course. Cruise control set at 60 MPH.

NGK Torch modifed plug
#1 40.0
#2 39.5
#3 40.3 AVG 39.75
#4 39.2

Halo plug
#1 40.2
#2 39.8 AVG 39.90
#3 40.1
#4 39.5

No significant difference. There was a 4 hr difference between the 2 runs due to letting the engine cool so I can change the plugs and driving 30 minutes to let the ECU settle in. The weather did not change during that time. The procedure for changing to the halos in the instructions is to reset the ECU so it can adjust faster to the faster firing sequence. I think that if you havent tuned up the car in a while their procedure of resetting the ECU along with the new plugs might give the reported gains of 10%. http://www.haloplug.com/
They do have data that shows an increase but not for me. Your mileage may vary.

Maybe they are more effective with stop and go driving? Just being hopeful.

No, I keep um(they do last longer than regular plugs) to remind me that the modern fuel injected engine is 98% efficient as is.
I'll put the box they came in right next to the auto cool.

You might try testing them in city driving...might be that they work better under load? Or full mixed driving tanks?

If spark efficiency is improved it's improved everywhere, I do believe spark plugs perform the same function everywhere.

Anyway, I don't see how he could possibly provide and accurate test of spark plugs in city driving or over tanks, so that idea is just asking for statistical error.

Hmm, so mehbe next time I'm redlining all the way through third I'll get better mileage? I doubt my car could redline in third even.

I'd did this test about a month ago just forgot about putting it up. I've seen no increase in city mileage -zip- nada even though I don't know how you could possible test it. I tested it to a modified NGK plug which might be as good as the Halo's. I'll just modified the $2.00 NGK again next time and leave it at that.

These are the ones with the hole drilled in the ground electrode and with the center electrode cupped?
