Roof Wing Spoiler?

I don't have a Honda Civic, so this wouldn't work for me, but what do you think of this :

What do you think? Would this be a good "foundation" for making a homemade boattail?

This looks similar to the factory spoiler on my 98 hatchback, anybody have any idea about these suckers? Help or hurt, what do you guys think? Keep in mind the hatch has a steeper angle behind than the picture here. I was wondering if i should take mine off and try to figure some interior mount for my 3rd brake light.

I think it would work quite well with 1/2" ground out of the front and fitted backwards....
