Evo-Style Vortex generators?

Hello -

what do you think of these :

I saw it at jcwhitney.com by navigating as follows :

Car Shop ->
2003 Honda Civic ->
Exterior ->
Spoilers, Wings & Body Styling ->
Rear Spoiler & Wing ->
Carbon Fiber Roof Mount Fins

From what I have read, they are intended for MPG but instead :

"the vortex generator is merely a strip of specially designed fins that are designed to flow more air to the rear spoiler for added downforce."

Soooo, on a coupe, they work in tandem with a giant spoiler :

Do you think they could have MPG applications? If yes, on what kind of car?

We decided that it was mainly for 4 doors because the airflow is more disrupted off of the roof of a 4 door compared to the 2 door. On civics I know the slope is much less on the coupe thus making the air flow around it better, I dont see it helping you much

The angle of the uprights help keep it from wobbling sideways as well as directs more of the air to behind the vehicle where there is low pressure and drag.

Thanks for pointing this out. I remember seeing Ziploto's "Casper" in other posts, but I hadn't found the vortex detail. My SW2 has the "corrugated" roofline of a wagon, so I was wondering what the optimum position would be (even for so little benefit, it appears).
