How hard is it to replace PCV valve?? And should it be replaced?

How hard is it to replace it?? Should it be replaced, my car is 63k miles and it was never replaced.

I'm trying to replace anything that has to do with fuel economy that needs to be replaced.

It's generally pretty easy.

It's generally pretty easy. Take it off the car and shake it - if it rattles, it's good, if it doesn't, clean it with brake parts cleaner unitl it does rattle, or replace it [they're only a few dollars]. One thing I also recommend replacing is the hoses [both upper and lower] that attach to the PCV valve, especially if they've never been replaced before. These hoses probably not only are brittle, but caked to hell on the inside with crusty oil residue, reducing the inside diameter. I'm actually doing this today, along with many other things to try to get my car to pass emissions.

My car passed the second

My car passed the second time but I just want to do all the maintenance before all the parts break that way my car won't break down. The part is like $8. I plan to do it with other stuff at 75K.

So far I had the air filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, radiator flush, distributor cap, spark plugs, distributor rotor, spark plug wires, synthetic engine oil, and bad rim changed.

I'm trying to find all the worn out stuff.

Dax, i have it on good

Dax, i have it on good authority that just becuase the part rattles does not mean that it is okay, that just means it's not clogged. Honestly, for the price, and ease of change, to replace it is good peace of mind.
