New NOx cat.

Stolen from GCC.

Our new cerium-oxide additive is the breakthrough that makes it work. When it’s combined with Cu-ZSM-5, the resulting catalyst works at normal exhaust temperatures and is actually more effective with water vapor than without it. With a lean fuel-air mixture, it removes as much as 95-100 percent of NOx emissions.
PM filters seems to work reasonably well (except for Ford's version), so with NOx out of the picture, 50-state certification some time in 201x should be doable. Hopefully it'll get to the market and VW will bring the 3L, or better yet 1L, Lupo, over. Or maybe a 50mpg 4x4 pickup truck...

Yes, but

Easy mistake...the XR-2200 is the muffler bracket on the '79 Pinto. Anyone who gets this, should reply with the appropriate movie reply...

Hello -

Coolio. Obviously, they'll target the Diesel trucks first, but I hope that they see the possibility of a retrofit market for lean-burn gas-burners. It would be a matter of offering a scaled-down system.
