Pictures of Mods

All the time I see pictures of various mods floating around, and I would like to collect them up to make a gallery on crxmpg as well as just have a good inspiration thread going here.

So, that said, post up your mods and any description you want, and lemme know if I should include it on crxmpg while you're at it.

Thanks all.

Just nab 'em under "fair use". If someone doesn't like it they can just PM/email you and have it taken down.

Well, here goes (and you can use them on CRXMPG). Here are a few of my mods:
Hand throttle (a wingnut on the handle pivot adjusts the holdback tension)
<

Interior side mirror (they are on both doors)

SuperMID (and diodes installed to replace the hard-to-reach burnt out dash lights)

Boattail

Nosepiece (the radiator air inlet is the slot at the front of the hood, radiator air is exhausted into the front wheel wells and along the exhaust pipe tunnel into the right rear wheel well)

Front wheel well skirt (piano hinge on top, there is a spring at each lower corner to retract the skirt when the wheel straightens)

Fear wheel well skirt

Side skirt (there is an inner and outer skirt)

Front wheel spoiler

Rear wheel spoiler (before I installed the side skirts)

Underbody panelling (view from rear)

False windshield

Additional pics of my car and concept models I used for ideas in designing my mods are on my photo site:

Protege Grill Block. Made of zip-ties, screws, and coroplast.

TomO, tell us about the strut tower brace.

By allowing you to go faster around corners, how much do you believe it's worth in FE?

Well, the 215/50/13 tires did more for cornering speed than the strut tower brace did, but the brace does its part too. I don't go around corners fast...it's more of the correct line (or racing line, if you will) so as to not lose speed. most all of my corners on my daily commute are on and off ramps.

As far as FE is concerned... the fact that I maintain or am able to increase speed on those corners keeps me from having to accelerate all over again. The FE driving techniques that I use are: Best line cornering, anticipate red lights (coast longer), slow acceleration, highway driving. And I still maintain a 50mpg 90 day average. The VX is quite a nice car

Nice truck Jeffrey!
How did you get so many pictures in there? Did you make them all primary pictures?

Gary

Ps. I guess I'll try to see if it works.

My more-permanent grill blocker for the VX. Already noticing it's starting to get up to temp faster.

Theres the mod's to the Civic I no longer own. Mis the mpg. But the rest,,, nope.

Only mods worth a flip were the horn mod. Why Honda put that whimpy 1960's motorcycle horn on the car is insane.

Engine belly pan only helped to keep the engine bay near spotless.

Tint helped with looks and some comfort.

Basslink helped the stereo.

The rest,,, a waiste of time......

Its invisible...I mean, all I've done so far is grill block on the lower half of the upper grill and the bottom grill with cardboard + zip ties, and it seems to help a bit.
