Woo! Best tank yet! 29.7 mpg!

I'm so happy! Though it's not really that big a thing, as it was primarily highway driving. (700+miles of it) Well, technically it wasn't a single tank, but I'm counting the 2 tanks merged for the sake of accuracy, because I used a different pump that was on level ground rather than the slight slope that I usually have.

First tank was 36 mpg, second tank was 19 mpg (Where I filled up at my normal spot.) But the total of those 2 tanks was 29.7 MPG! WOO!

I'm so happy.

Would have been a hell of a lot better if I hadn't been stuck in 1st for a half an hour in Pittsburgh. Stop and go traffic, so no chance of turning my engine off. A half hour of 2 mpg! GAH!

But still, I got quite nearly a 30 mpg tank! I'm so happy!

Good going! 30 mpg in a big beast with turbo is really good. Especially considering the traffic you had to deal with.

Currently getting low 40's mpg in pre-Spring weather. Current EPA is 31/39 so low 40's is not too shabby. WAI mod done.

Now driving '97 Civic HX; tires ~ 50 psi. '89 Volvo 240 = semi-retired.

Very nicely done.....Kudos!! That's the goal I'm reaching for with Julie....so far, 22 is my personal best. You've got sooooo much more going for you, in terms of aerodynamics, smaller motor, etc.....

Biff, get 30 mpg one time and I will send you one of my famous '26 Cowboy Songs of the Old West' CD. Don't worry, I'm not singin'. PM when ready.

Hehe, feels quite great. The problem is now that I'm back to city driving... No more of that glorious 300 miles of open road to cruise... I shall still try!

CO ZX2: Is that a threat? :P

Edit: Just joking. You do music?

No threat. A bribe!!!

I just love old cowboy songs, they tell great stories. Back when men were men, and meant what they said. I have 1000s from the first ever recorded to now.

Our home is on land that was homesteaded 1n 1862. I am considering moving the original cabin onto my property. The owner of that parcel is starting a new house and will probably tear it down otherwise. He is supposed to let me know. I'm only 1/4 mile away so I'm keeping an eye on it.

I do play a little bluegrass music. No singin'. I know what I can and can't do.
