Traveling south of the border question

My 07 Canadian vehicle manual states that alcohol blends are not adequate for use in this vehicle and not to be used. Looking on the forum I see that most US posters report that US stations are supplying some kind of 10% or more alcohol blend fuel gasoline. Have my trips through the US to another country been curtailed, or do I have to start thinking about carrying my own fuel when traveling to Mexico?

I would take a gas can just in case, but normaly you can find at least one gas station that has premeim gas that is 100% gas, they are suposed to lable it, I've had the best luck with BP gas stations.

Gas stations no longer post the ethanol content of gas in the US...so it's a guessing game. I'd say avoid the corn belt....stay in the west?

There is one station here in the twin cities region of Minnesota that I know of that has non-ethanol premium...and they charge about $0.50 more per gallon for it!!! So avoid MN, lol.

10% or more alcohol blend fuel gasoline.

It's no more than 10% Unless it's labeled as E-XX (typically E85), and that will be a rare find.

What's the make/model? I'd call the dealership (don't give any names or personal information), and ask them if traveling to the US/Mexico, where ethanol blends may not be labeled is safe for your fuel system.... Be sure to ask about warranty

It would be pretty much impossible to avoid buying gas with ethanol in it while traveling all the way thru the US.

What kind of engine is in your Pathfinder? If its the 4.0 I think you might be getting confused with methanol. That engine like most modern gas engines run perfectly fine on ethanol blends.
