Hard to tell from the pic but wouldn't that cover ruin the aero going over the windshield? Seems like it would unnecessarily force the air up.

I just figured it might be a smoother transition than running into the wipers.

I read an article elsewhere on here (autospeed article or whatever the mag is you guys always quote) about the same thing on a prius that helped wiper contact area, wind noise, and cabin air induction but didn't make a noticeable difference in MPG IIRC

I've been thinking about this for weeks now, and hiding the wipers and smoothing that transition really seems to help. But that one, like most aftermarket products it seems, looks like it would do more harm than good.

The angle is just too oblique to help with the transition, it just creates a low pressure area behind it and the flow over the windshield becomes a train wreck.

Salt lake racers fix a smooth transition there, blocking the function of the wipers. I think what is needed is something like the front skirts on trebuchet03's car. So the wipers can peek out behind a movable flap. Or at least something more like a cowl induction scoop taken all the way back to the windshield.

The thing in the picture looks like a "bug guard" that works by de-laminating the flow across the windsheild.
