I dont know why there arent more used ScanGauge to sell. If I would have a new car, I would simply buy a SG, used it for 1 year (to see it in action during four season, winter...) then sell it on internet for about half the price. Because after a year, you now know how to get the best fuel efficiency for your car (acceleration, crusing speed, using a block heater, ect.) and if its a recent car, it will mostly do the same for years to come...
I think about buying one for my parents cars to used it on them and then sell it back after a year of used and tried.
My moms have a Yaris auto so I dont think I will do a lot of test because the car is already FE and my mom drive it slow and FE in mind, but still I would like to try a tank with a SG on it. But the real deal would be the X-trail MANUAL of my dad, since Nissan claim that the car is doing like 36mpg on highway or so. Also my dad is driving it fast and without any FE in mind, but I would like to see how much mpg I could sqeeze out of this 2.5L 4 cylinders in a SUV, and also see how much mpg the AWD eat, and also the 4x4 mode.
Finally, I would defenitly get it install on the 97 boxters of my dad, since its a lightweigh car with a little 6 cylinders of 200 hp (not THAT much...), I think it could do some go mpg for a sport car (got more handling than power...). But dady is driving it in the 4000rpm range (not that he drives it FAST, but its just that he is too damn lazy to change gear and he stays in second in city or 3-4 on highway and it takes time to change up, so that is not FE AT ALL) So I will be able to tell I'm how much gas he waste doing that, and how much mpg he could gain making normal gears change and doing slower and steady speed on highway. At least, he only used it for 5 or 6 months a year and its is second car...
