V8 to a V4

I wasn't sure if this was where to post this but here we go. I was reading the post about cutting cylinders on the fly with a switch. It reminded me of an article in my dad's Mother Earth News when I was in high school. It was an article on how to convert a V8 to a V4 by removing some parts. It is kind of a drastic move but, as the article mentions, if the 4 cylinders you are using get "tired", you can put the other 4 back in operation. At least it makes for an interesting read.

Hmm

That does sound pretty interesting. The thing on here is about cutting the fuel injection to four cylinders, I dunno if that is what they would've done in that case, but the removing stuff makes me think I have no idea, haha.

If you can find the article that would be great.

I find it extremely funny that these old articles are becoming relevant again. Back during the oil shortage in the 70s people started making gadgets, being all innovative, etc. to save gas.

Then suddenly gas was abundant.

Now it's happening all over again. Good thing a website like motherearthnews kept all of it's previous issues archived.
