This is a logical play for Acura, since the U.S.-market TSX is essentially the same as the Euro-spec Accord, allowing the company to sell the same model in both markets. Also, being a lower-volume model than the U.S.-spec Accord allows Honda to test-market diesels with less risk. If the diesel TSX is a hit with American consumers, expect the Accord to offer the engine soon thereafter, possibly for the 2010 model year.

Even if it can meet Tier II requirements, it will probably sell at a $12,000 premium over the gas engine version.
