which will burn more gas

I was trying to figure out which will burn more gas in a ex 2003 honda civic. idling for a hour in a drive way or driving on the highway at 55 mph for an hour.

any engine: highway, hands down. friction+cars friction vs only is own friction

I've got a 2004 civic, and for ~55 mph I think its 1.2 gallons/hour (or something close to that) and idling is anywhere from .23-.3gph. Or at least thats what the scanguage is telling me.

It depends upon if someone comes along and takes it for a ride out of the driveway when you are not looking or not.
