$29.01 to fill up!!

I just spent the most I have ever spent today to fill up my Festiva...$29.01 Good thing I don't drive a gas hog anymore...... My truck would cost me $120 or more... thank goodness i rarely have to drive that thing!

yup.. of course, after taxes its about right. takes me 35 to fill my 10 gallon tank on civic, i make about 50 a day after taxes (8.5 an hour, single)

Mine was $36.73 from the "E" mark, 10.837 gallons. The fuel light hadn't came on yet though. Still had a couple gallons left in the tank.

$50 for the Maxx, $50 for the Altima. 16 gallon tanks there. Can't wait for the CRX. I would hate to live in Europe as much driving as I do - their gas prices (as noted above) are significantly higher.

More than half of it is tax but that doesn't mean the government spends the money wisely, at least in my country.

The universal health system is a joke with year-long waiting periods for something as simple as an ophthalmologist's appointment. Surgery is worse. In reality, either you go to the private sector or die waiting.

I think comparing USA to many other countries isn't very fair. USA is much more spread out and, atleast in my area, public transportation is non-existant. Major cities are different, but more rural areas is what im talking about.

Around here, either you need a car or find someone else to drive you around everywhere (lol, yeah right). There is no bus, subway, train, etc, and biking/walking is impossible since I cant do such up to 50 miles a day..

So, for example, it might suck for my friend in Spain where its much more expensive to fill the tank, but she can walk to school/work/mall/market. Remove those from your driving and imagine how much less you'd be driving...

I spent $38.08 on my last fill up...it's rediculous because of the fact that when I got the car I was only paying $25 for fill ups. I'm driving 60 miles a day so it's very rediculous.

Yikes! This is why I don't really complain about paying $40 every two weeks to fill up.

I just pumped $15.00 for 11 days in the VX.

When I started driving this much gas would have cost $1.00 with a gas monkey filling my tank, washing the windshield, & checking the oil.

The new fuel prices have definitely changed the way more Americans are looking at transportation. Instead of putting money into some stocks this year, I bought a scooter...120+mpg. The return in savings is more than I would make in a speculative market. Good timing I think!

Portugal still rates higher than the U.S. in health care. http://www.reuters.com/article/lates.../idUSN07651650 I pay $9000+ annually for my wife and I, no kids and this is the price for employee health insurance. It goes up every year and I'm not even in my mid 20s.

Actually a Doctor friend of mine needed a ride to NY Long Island so I drove him there and when he filled my empty tank in the xB before we left he said "is that all it takes to fill up?" He drives a 14 year old V8 powered Range Rover mostly around the city 1.5 miles at a trip. I returned to Newport RI on the same tank and then filled up again a week later.
All you have to do is look at the gas log to see the prices change or YOURSTATEgasprices.com and look at the price graph for the past several year. Then again I looked at the price of a candy bar in the checkout line at Stop and Shop and was shocked at $0.89 - used to be a nickel.

i still remembered in 2002 when i got my civic and license, it took 10 bucks to fill up. 1.05 a gallon at arco......


now it takes 33 bucks to fill my 10 gallon tank at 3.29 a gallon

$118 my last fill up. Wasn't empty either. $3.83 per gal. In Evansville, IN diesel was $4.09
