I did not put 3 pounds of

I did not put 3 pounds of paint on them though. In any case, it is either enjoy my car while I have it or make that extra .1%. I'll make it up somewhere else, spend 10 bucks I otherwise wouldn't. It's never going to be as efficient as possible, I figure.

I think they'll look good on

I think they'll look good on the car, when I work on some more suspension **** I'll pop them on for a preview shot (again).

Thanks,

I'm currently putting my interior back in, wish I hadn't taken it out, damn me! I'll save weight some other ways though. Lots of interior will still be gone.

PS: I'll give them a final

PS: I'll give them a final weighing some day at the post office, I think the official stock weight is 9.75, so I'm thinking 10.5 or something now.

don't forget lug nuts, vx

don't forget lug nuts, vx came with some really short lug nuts, simaler to the crx hf's, honda used some longer lug nuts with their SI rims, and with the rims that used hub caps, it only added up to something like 4 ounces of extra weight, but it's unsprung weight, and if you don't need it, why have it, right?

I have *** clue where to

I have *** clue where to find some of those,

Anyway, I think that it might be neat to get the open ended honda lugs and deal with it that way.

I love to nitpick on free **** or cheap ****, but I'm planning to make this car an EV someway, and I ain't gonna need a bunch of crap to save gas when my energy independent household is charging my EV!

You can save a bit more weight by using two lugnuts.

Just kidding.

They look sweet! I'm picking up mine (HX) Sunday morning. They are in great shape so no painting required. I'm thinkin they look just like yours but are 14" and 12 lbs.

AZBrandon at cleanmpg just posted that his HX wheels were 11.75 (not 12)each on the PO scale. I just lost another lb! So 11.75+12.65= 24.4 lbs each. Not bad for 14".

I can't imagine that paint added much weight to the VX wheels. So with your Yokohama's at 15 lb each, that puts you at 24.75/wheel. So we have about the same rotating weight, assuming that our rotors and drums weigh the same.

They are the same, indeed, I imagine that I come out to a little less work than you in terms of rotating effort because my treads will be a whole inch closer to the axel than your, and that's where a buttload of the weight is, but it's prolly very close because of your tire choice, you might even be winning.

Clear coat and other rims should've been done today, but it's raining!

Actually, the 165/65/14 RE 92's are 22.5" diameter. The 175/70/13 Yoko Avid Tourings are 22.7" diameter. Go figure? Looks like our buttloads are about the same.

I think my steelies weigh

I think my steelies weigh about 15-17 pounds, not entirely sure though offhand. It's a big difference.

Just put the last coat of clear on, more updates later. Now I gotta "set" my timing and try out jared's iacv.

I'm wondering why krousdb

I'm wondering why krousdb desided to go with the 14" HX rims insted of the 13" VX rims.
SVOboy, why are you going with yokohoma tires? when I looked at them they seemed pricy, and had a low tread wear life, is there something that I'm missing?
I like the look of your new rims, is the paint a dark grey? it's hard to see clearly.

The LRR lightweight tires he wanted weren't available for 13s.

Got them when I first got the car, *shrug* They were only 40 bucks a pop and free shipping. I think their tread wear life is pretty good, but I dunno. They also won on the tire rack in most categories, and definately for the satisfaction category.

Gunmetal. I'll try to get a picture in full sun, but it's still raining. Looks very good with the clear coat on, thanks!

Well the Potenza RE92's are available in 13", but they weigh 17 lbs! The 14's I got are OEM on the Insight and only weigh 12.7 Lbs. Anyway I got the tires mounted and balanced. My digital scale says 24.4 lbs each. They are now mounted on the car and it sits another inch lower. All 4 pumped up to 62 psi.... Im goin for a drive now...

You're a pimp. When I get gas tomorrow (restarting due to fixing my car finally) I will pump up a little past 50 (the highest my gauge goes).

pics please!

svo, your rims look fantastic. i have vx rim envy again.

stupid suzukiclone bolt pattern. i was really disappointed my vx rims wouldn't fit.

i knocked on a door yesterday where there was a rusty 323 sedan with 14 in alloys sitting in the bushes that would have fit my car. unfortunately, he said he was going to replace the blown motor and start driving it again.
