The antennae are extended to about 7 feet tall. The maximum height is about 8 feet.

But because people really DO drive as IF they can't see you,

I didn't know your bumper was black and didn't match the rest of the car. Heck, you could of spray painted the aft portion of the rear bumper fluorescent orange - THAT would be easier to see.

Still, you can't fix stupid people. Even if you had a turret of the back of the car and a big sign stating it is automatically programmed to shot anyone within 10 feet of the rear of the car while traveling over 60mph - they'd still do it.

My plan is to use the antennae on the interstate where the speed differential is the problem. They're easy to put on and remove and they're stored in a convenient location.

And, the antennae will come off before I pull into the parking lot at work. I don't really mind if strangers laugh at me as long as they see me. And, I know I would never hear the end of it if my co-workers saw this.

They attract attention if you're at a stop sign but they are not immediately visible at a quick glance. Just another car with a tennis ball antenna is what I thought a second before laughing. Good idea though, more obsevant people than me will notice you sooner.
