might run iffy in cold temps but i just switched my auto choke on my chevette to a manual control and once its started for the day i dont have to use the choke to start it no matter how long it sits (it sat for 8 hrs today from its initial start up till i started it again, no problems)

have yet to go thru a tank yet, but just being able to start it and go to normal idle as soon as it starts is nice.

cant find a wire print yet. let me know with a pm if all this is correct i might be able to findit. .. if you disconect it it might make it say in fast idle as a default. which would mean you only need to priovide it a constant ground to too keep it out of fast idle ..

this will keep it from fast idle when you a/c is turned on or your defrosters
it might make it start kind of rough .. from what ive read the normal idle is 750 rpm .. when you add defost and other acc it steps it up to 800 and then to 850 depending on what you have running.

Be careful dont smoke you computer if you go adding grounds to hot wires the power i think runs thur you main relay fuse.

I see the diagram but I don't see which wire you are talking about. A little side note. I don't have to worry about fast idle for a/c or rear defrost because the a/c I removed for wieght and the rear defrost doesn't work.

do you possible mean the fast idle control solenoid valve? If so I will take a look at it tomorrow when I get off of my night shift.

Just unplug the idle control wire on your throttle body...should be a two-pronged plug underneath or to the side of the throttle body. This will disable fast idle and allow you to plug it back in if you need it in the winter. I did this "accidently" when I was adjusting my idle...took me two days to figure out why my engine never rev'd higher than 900 rpm when I started it.
